Waypoint Realms
Waypoint is in open beta. Things will change, and we would like to hear what breaks.Details

Features & plans

Every feature in Waypoint Realms, what it does, and which membership it needs. A free account gets you further than you might expect.

The subscriptions

Waypoint Realms has three separate things you can pay for. They are not a single ladder: a membership does not include the other two, and neither of the other two requires a membership.

The Bindery Pass

Coming soon

All-you-can-read access to subscription comics from participating publishers.

It is its own subscription, and deliberately so. What readers actually read decides how the creator royalty pool is divided, and revenue bundled into a membership tier cannot be attributed back to the creators who earned it. No membership includes it; it does not require one.

$5.99 a month when it opens, and you can cancel any time.

Hub

For partners

The partner track, for businesses that host play — listings, bookings, events, analytics and staff, with a storefront when you want to sell. Billed separately from a membership, and never unlocked by one.

Every feature in detail

The complete catalog — everything Waypoint Realms does, whether it costs anything or not. Each entry says what it needs: Every account means it is free at every tier. The Realms themselves are members-only, because what you make in them is yours, so they sit behind a sign-in.

Community

25 features · 10 need a membership

Finding people to play with, and the places you play.

  • Find and join games

Search for games by game, date and distance, then reserve a seat. Every account, free included, can RSVP to as many sessions as it likes — the only limit is the seats the host set.

Free: Unlimited · Plus: Unlimited · Pro: Unlimited

    Every account
  • Circles you lead

Counted by the circles where you hold the Lead role, including ones someone handed over to you. Stepping down as Lead frees the slot. Downgrading never removes you from a circle you already lead.

    Free: 1 · Plus: 2 · Pro: Unlimited

    Every account, with a cap
  • Members in a circle

The cap follows the circle's current Lead — the highest membership among its Leads, not whoever founded it. A circle over the cap keeps every member it has; it simply stops taking new ones until it is under the cap again or a Lead with a bigger allowance joins its Leads. Nothing is ever deleted or locked.

    Free: 25 · Plus: 50 · Pro: Unlimited

    Every account, with a cap
  • Circle voice rooms

A voice channel any member can walk into, in whichever of the circle's rooms you turn it on for — no invite, no scheduled call. Leads can mute or remove someone mid-call, and voice in a campaign is separate and free to everyone at the table. The entitlement is the circle owner's, so every member of the circle can join whether or not they subscribe.

    Plus and up
  • People in a voice room

A cap per room, not per circle — a busy circle can run voice in several rooms at once. Past a dozen people a voice room stops being a conversation, so the number is set where the feature stops working rather than where it stops being affordable.

    Free: — · Plus: 6 · Pro: 12

    Paid tiers
  • Circle voice time

Counted in participant-minutes and shared by the whole circle: six people talking for ten minutes spends sixty. It resets on the first of the month. Pro's allowance covers a weekly club night with room to spare; Plus's suits a small group's occasional call. When it runs out the rooms stay, the calls stop until the month turns over.

    Free: — · Plus: 600 · Pro: 2400

    Paid tiers
  • Camera in circle rooms

Switched on per room, so a circle can have somewhere to show faces and somewhere that stays voice-only. Turning it on makes that room 18+ — members under 18 keep every other room in the circle but cannot join this one, which is why it is a room-by-room choice and off until a lead makes it. Cameras always start off when you join; leads can turn someone's camera off mid-call, and it stays off. The entitlement is the circle owner's, as voice is. Screen sharing is a separate switch and does not carry the age limit.

    Pro and up
  • Screen sharing in circle rooms

For the map, the rules page or the character sheet everyone needs to see at once. Its own switch rather than part of camera, and the difference matters: turning sharing on does NOT make the room 18+, so an all-ages table can share a map without opening a room its younger members cannot enter. Switched on per room and off until a lead turns it on; nobody shares by joining, and a lead can stop a share mid-call. Works on desktop browsers — phone browsers cannot capture a screen.

    Plus and up
  • Circle video time

Counted in participant-minutes like voice time, and kept as a separate number because a minute of video costs several times a minute of audio — one shared total would hide the expensive half. When video time runs out the room drops to voice for the rest of the month rather than closing, and it comes back on the first.

    Free: — · Plus: — · Pro: 600

    Paid tiers
  • Circle screen-share time

Counted in participant-minutes, and kept apart from video time so the two never spend each other's — a circle that has used up its camera minutes can still share a map, and the other way round. When sharing time runs out the room carries on with voice for the rest of the month, and it comes back on the first.

    Free: — · Plus: 300 · Pro: 600

    Paid tiers
  • Group channels

Direct messages and group threads for a table, a circle, or a one-off session. Free on every tier — coordinating a game should never be the thing you have to pay for.

    Every account
  • Advanced search filters

Two filters on top of the basic search: only sessions that still have a seat open, and only sessions for games you own. Free on every account — finding a game you can actually join is not something to charge for.

    Every account
  • Saved searches

Save a search you run — "Pathfinder", say — and Waypoint Realms checks new sessions against its words for you, so a session that appears on a Tuesday does not depend on you looking that Tuesday. Free on every account.

    Every account
  • Create a circle

A circle is a persistent group: a member roster, discussion threads, its own events and a scoreboard. Every account can start one — a club is what the product is for, so founding one is never behind a paywall. What a membership changes is how many you lead and how large they grow.

    Every account
  • Run tournaments

Tournament structure for a circle: seeding, rounds, reported results and live standings. Built for league nights and small competitive events rather than for large organised play. Any circle's Leads and officers can run one, whatever their membership.

    Every account
  • Your calendar

One calendar across everything you have said yes to — sessions, circle events, convention tickets and venue bookings — with reminders before each. Subscribe to it from your own calendar app if you would rather live there.

    Every account
  • Events

Anything larger than a single session: conventions, tournaments, launch nights and club meets, with ticketing where the organiser has set it up. Browsing and attending are free.

    Every account
  • Venues

A directory of places that welcome gaming — game shops, clubs, libraries and rentable rooms — with what they host, when they are open, and whether a table can be booked. Venues are listed by their owners through Hub.

    Every account
  • Book a GM

Browse game masters who run paid games, see what systems they run and what past players said, and book a session for your group. Free to browse and to book; the GM sets their own rate.

    Every account
  • Requests

The other direction from searching: say what you want — a system, a schedule, a group that will teach a newcomer — and let hosts and other players answer.

    Every account
  • Circles

Joining and taking part in a circle costs nothing at any tier: threads, the roster, circle events and the scoreboard are all open to members of that circle. Founding one is free too; a membership changes how many you lead and how large they grow.

    Every account
  • Feeds

A running feed of posts, session write-ups and activity from the people, circles and topics you follow, with your own posts alongside them.

    Every account
  • Members directory

Search the people on Waypoint Realms the way you search for games — by what they play, where they are, and how they like to play — and connect with them.

    Every account
  • Messages

One-to-one messaging alongside the group channels, with read state and notifications. Free at every tier, because arranging a game should never be behind a paywall.

    Every account
  • Saved items

A single place for everything you have set aside, whatever kind of thing it is, so a venue you liked and a listing you are considering do not live in two different lists.

    Every account

TTRPG Realm

15 features · 5 need a membership

Running and playing tabletop roleplaying games.

  • Campaigns

The campaign page holds everything one ongoing game needs: a shared wiki that fills itself in from your session notes, a tactical battle map with fog of war, initiative and turn tracking, a recap of every session, and an AI Game Master that can run or assist a table. Being a *player* in someone else's campaign is free; this entitlement is for keeping one of your own.

    Plus and up
  • Active campaigns

The cap counts campaigns you run as GM. Deleting one frees the slot, and campaigns you have merely joined as a player never count against it.

    Free: — · Plus: 2 · Pro: Unlimited

    Paid tiers
  • Character slots

The Character Vault itself is free — building, importing and generating characters costs nothing. The cap is on how many you keep at once, across every game system you play.

    Free: 2 · Plus: 10 · Pro: Unlimited

    Every account, with a cap
  • Print Shop downloads

Every model in the Print Shop is free to download and print at home — the cap is on how many you can pull in one day, which is a scraping limit rather than a paywall. A free account's allowance covers a table's worth of terrain in an evening; a membership raises it for the bulk-print weekend.

    Free: 100 · Plus: 300 · Pro: 1000

    Every account, with a cap
  • Print Shop storage

The total size of the models you have uploaded to the Print Shop. A free account's allowance holds a handful of minis and modular walls; the larger allowances are for the multi-part, high-poly sculpts a serious contributor produces. Removing a model frees its space, and Plus and Pro can add more storage without changing plan.

Board Games Realm

5 features · 3 need a membership

Deciding what to play, and keeping track of what you own.

  • Teach time

Table Oracle already uses teach time to fit games into the evening you actually have; this shows you the working. Who at the table knows the game well enough to teach it, how long that will take, and what the evening really costs once you count it.

    Plus and up
  • Shelf gaps

Computed in the same pass as the shortlist: the games your group's tastes point at that none of you has on a shelf. Useful before a birthday, a convention, or a sale.

  • Saved groups

Cosplay Realm

15 features · 3 need a membership

Designing, costing and building a costume, then showing it off.

  • Live bill of materials

A costed breakdown of what a piece will actually take, computed from the mesh's own volume and surface area against current material prices — per layer, so a foam base with a Worbla plate and printed trim each price separately. It sends straight to your build's component list as costed line items.

    Plus and up
  • Pattern drafting

Bodice, body and trouser blocks drafted parametrically to your measurement profile, with seam allowance, then tiled across as many sheets of ordinary printer paper as it takes so you can assemble and trace at true scale. Drafting runs in your browser; your measurements are not sent anywhere.

    Plus and up
  • Costume assembly

Stand several finished pieces on one mannequin built from your measurements and check the clearance between them before you cut anything — the pauldron that fouls the helmet is much cheaper to find here. Assembling and checking is free; keeping the assembly is what this unlocks.

    Plus and up
  • Your design library

Designs you model in Piece Forge are saved to your account, reopen fully editable, and re-export whenever you need them. Free on every tier: the whole build loop — measure, model, fit, unfold, export and keep — is the reason to be here, not the thing to charge for.

  • Sell your designs

8 features · 1 needs a membership

Following what you read, and making comics of your own.

  • The Bindery Pass

A separate subscription, not part of any membership: unlimited reading across the publishers who join the programme.
